Anthony Spirito got his film making start in Newark, NJ in 1998. He created a video production company that serviced the greater Tri-State area that focused primarily on Special Event, Wedding, Corporate and Music video. In 2001 he set out to make his first documentary project, Into the Arroyo, a film that chronicled the life of 12 year old Jose Arroyo who was living with his family at the YMWCA homeless shelter. In 2004 Anthony relocated to Tucson, AZ, where he began work on his second documentary film, Voices From the Line, a film that gave a rare insight into the complex world of Mexican Immigration. All the while, Anthony continued to create imaginative portraits of life in the Southwest. Desert Sky Films was created in 2008 with an emphasis on Anthony getting back to his roots and applying his documentary style to the new projects he was creating.
